Today is the day we’ve both been looking forward to for so long…

Nick and Alicia. What a couple. These guys had to postpone their wedding TWICE and have finally been able to tie the knot with a small group of (socially Covid-bubbled!) friends and family, at a beautiful farm in South Wales, near the coast. We had the ceremony live streamed to those who couldn’t attend, surprise videos played from those remote guests, a corgi ring bearer walked down the aisle by the cutest bridesmaids in leather jackets, and the best man making his emotional speech all the way from Australia.

– 8 Years of joy and success, and owning our own house, just so we could get a corgi…

These guys had me laughing, crying, running, climbing over rocks, jumping through smoke, up at the crack of dawn to film the sunrise and force fed tequila when the filming stopped into the night. I would do it all again. What a wedding and what a privilege to be part of it. It truly was an honour to film and edit for them.

– It’s funny, you’re sitting just ten meters away from me, in another cottage… and no doubt as excited about today, as I am…

Behind the Scenes

We tried to make this day perfect for Nick and Alicia, we set up multiple unobtrusive cameras (which the bride made sure to cover with flowers to hide my wires and hazard tape “Josh, that tape isn’t going to be there on the big day is it…?“) for the live streaming and secondary angles.

We bought our own dedicated external 4G wifi router to get the best signal from inside an old brick building. To get the best audio we used shotgun mics and attached discreet lavalier microphones to the groom and officiant. There was some LED banding visible in shot but we’ve learned from this to get the right Hz range to match the lighting! Reduced in post.

Nick and Alicia had an incredible photographer – Kate from Kate Stuart Photography who was amazing to work with and helped me out so much. Would thoroughly recommend!

We used our drone for the swooping establishing shots and those on the beach, which we managed to race to before the sunset. What an amazing day.
